    From the high plateau north of Madrid, where colorful wildflowers bloom under the hot Spanish sun while a cool breeze blows, Ribera del Duero is an area representing some of the country’s most outstanding wines.  Gorgeous on the nose with brambly earth, beautifully rich, dark fruit, and fragrant florals (remember those wildflowers?), the Bayo is excellent.  It has a full body, hints of herbs on the palate, firm tannins, and is a Roble—which means it’s been aged for at least six months in oak.  Have this with hearty fare!
