    Sight of some of the bloodiest battles of the 13th century, Minervois has practiced viticulture since the Romans.  Indeed, the village La Liviniere (the first to receive Cru status) takes its name from the Latin cella vinaria, meaning ‘wine cellar.’  Deep and dark, this spends a year in French oak.  Its intensely rich fruit combines on the palate with notes of coffee, mint, licorice, and leather offering a soul-satisfying flavor and a long finish.  Enjoy this wine with lamb, steak, game, or in front of a fireplace.
