• Clos Castelot St. Emilion Bordeaux

  • The second wine of a highly respected Grand Cru producer, the Clos Castelot is a great example of right-bank Bordeaux and what makes it unique.  With fourteen months in slightly used French oak, this is a generous, juicy wine with radiant red berries and beautiful baking spice.  The palate is dry with terrific tannins, a bold body, and concentrated ripe fruit showing how useful and expressive merlot can be as a dominant grape.  Very nice with veal, venison, or vermicelli velouté.
