From the cooler, northern facing slopes of the Sierra de La Demanda, the grapes here come entirely from vines planted between 1940-1955 at the high elevation of almost 2300ft. They ripen later, but with a juice that is so concentrated and expressive. Then, aged for 2 years in stainless steel followed by 4 years in a combination of French and American oak, this wine has dark fruit flavors, strong tannins, a long finish, and a depth that is truly expressive. Enjoy with grilled red meats, barbecue, or a seasoned steak medium rare.
